Sky Rim Roads - Great News!

Hello Neighbors:

Amanda Pines and Rolling Hills that are connected to Sky Rim have had their roads repaired and we have not.  Amanda Pines has 57 homes and Rolling Hills has 28 lots with the 26th lot being built right now.  Sky Rim houses have a greater value and consequenly we pay more taxes per household and yet our roads need work.

We created a  three step plan to get our roads repaired that was to be sent out to our  email list.   Before sending it out we tried what we were going to ask the Sky Rim neighborhood to do and we got a response.  Mike Buck represents district one and our area and never responded.  Byron McDaniel a county commissioner responded immediately.   Byron came out on a Monday regarding the email sent on a holiday.  Byron met with us and toured Sky Rim.  The next day Byron came back with Chris, the right hand for Monty, the Elbert County Public Works Director.  We like Byron because of his willingness to step up and get things done for residents regardless of what district.

We were not on this years schedule and  because of Byron they started our desperately needed road shoulder repair today.  They should be here until that work is completed.

As for our cracks that are typically 4" deep, 4" wide, and every 40 feet we will have to wait.  The mastic seal with aggregate requires colder temperatues and can only be done in the spring and fall.

In summary, this is great news for Sky Rim but we will still need the cracks sealed.  Hopefully this fall?
